Training and Skills Enhancement

Our training and skills enhancement courses provides a range of flexible one-to-one support, peer support, and short courses, wellness training workshops and toolkit. The approach of our training offers is to support people’s holistic needs, mental health and wellbeing, in the community and in work. `

Educational and skill-building workshops

Language Support: Provide materials and workshops in preferred languages.

Cultural Responsiveness: We incorporate cultural practices and traditions into the programs (e.g., health promotion, festive events, skill-sharing workshops, celebrating and ameliorating rites of passage within communities).

Community-Led Design: We involve community members, lived experience service users, leaders, and cultural experts in the design and delivery of our programs to ensure they are relevant and trusted.

Accessibility and Trust: Offer sessions in accessible community hubs like mosques, churches, or community gardens to reduce stigma and build trust.

Diverse Options: We offer a wide variety of activities to cater to diverse interests and abilities, from physical activities to mental well-being support.

Physical Wellness

Walk and talk groups in local parks, as social gatherings helping to bridge language barrier and to access essential support service. Community gardening initiatives, which promote physical activity and social connection.

Mental & Emotional Wellness:

Storytelling and peer support groups with residents across GM sharing their lived experiences and build social connections.

Social & Creative Wellness:

Volunteering opportunities with local community organizations to foster a sense of purpose and belonging.

Community bilingual peer support/mentoring "Buddy" System program:

We’re committed to doing all we can to help normalise conversations and provide people with the support they need when faced with moments of loneliness, isolation, lack of social support and network, grief and loss.
Our peer support program supports connects a newly arrived or less confident bilingual with a naturally caring peer who ideally speaks the same or a similar language across diverse communities in their time of need. Our qualified bilingual peer workers build strong local networks that enable people to access peer-to-peer support alongside professional guidance and services.

We provide culturally responsive, language-accessible support to help individuals and families thrive in the UK.

1. Community Interpretation & Translation

Professional interpretation and translation support delivered by GM-qualified professionals for Greater Manchester residents, ensuring clear communication and equal access to essential services.

2. Community Mental Health & Peer Support

Mental health, peer support, and community services delivered in people’s first language.

We provide:

  • Peer mentoring and leadership support for newly arrived refugees

  • One-to-one emotional and practical guidance

  • Community connection and wellbeing support

New arrivals are matched with refugee mentors who have already settled in the UK, offering empathy, friendship, encouragement, and practical advice during the resettlement journey.
